Iguazu National Park Argentina In addition to its scenic beauty, the reason for the creation of the park was to protect and display the biodiversity of one of the richest natural areas in Argentina. The Iguassu National Park in Argentina was created in 1934, and now covers approximately 55,000 hectares or (133,436 acres. The park is located in the Northwestern corner of the Misiones Province in Argentina, at 25º 39" latitude South and 54º 20" longitude West. In 1984, this natural landscape of spectacular beauty was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The new price for 2021 Iguazu National Park admission fee is approximately USD $28.00 per person, 12 years old and under, pay USD $7.00. This is the price for foreign people. Open: daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (in September 1st to March 31st), park may change opening hours in the Summer |

The falls The falls system consists of 275 falls along 2.7 km. (1.6 miles). Most falls are about 60 to 80 meters high. The devil´s throat (in Spanish: Garganta del diablo) is a C shaped 80 meters high (269 feet) by 150 meters width (450 feet), it is the highlight of the falls in Argentina and making the Border Between Argentina and Brazil. The forest around Iguassu The Misiones or Paranaense (from the name of the Brazilian State of Parana) jungle is one of the most threatened environments in Argentina and at the same time one of the vastest in terms of biodiversity. At the beginning of the 20th century, this jungle covered an important part of Brazil, Paraguay and almost all of the Argentinean State of Misiones. Nowadays, 5% of the original forest remains in Brazil, 15% in Paraguay and 45% in Misiones. However, thanks to a vast network of National and Provincial Parks as well as protected areas, a Green Corridor is called the jungle portion which stretches from Iguassu to Mocona falls - shelters the last remnants of this environment. It contains more than 3,400,000 acres of original jungle and reforested jungle. Misiones Province in Argentina has the greatest responsibility in preserving it for future generations. |

Rainforest Ecological Train They call it in Argentina " The Ecological Train of the Jungle". Brought from England, the train was designed especially for this area, it is open cabins runs by natural gas.
The train speed limit inside the park is 20 km per hour giving people opportunity to take pictures and appreciate the environment.
Inside the park there are three stations, Estacion Central (at the entrance of the park), Estacion Cataratas (leading to superior and lower trails) and Estacion Garganta del Diablo (leading to the brink of the Devils Throat). If the train is very busy there is a way to reach Devils Throat by foot. |

Bird Watching This is a special tour for bird watchers, (with an ornithologist as guide for this tour). See the most beautiful subtropical rainforest birds in the Iguassu Falls area.
Te tour takes you through different spots in the Iguazu National Park, Argentina. The guide is an ornithology expert and has all the necessary equipment (binoculars, telescope, bird watchers manual, checklist and tapes with more than 250 local bird songs on it). What is included: land transportation to and from the hotel in (4x4) Jeeps. Mineral water, refreshments, insect repellent and binoculars are also included. Be prepared to wake up early in the morning; according to the season your tour will begin between 5:00 a.m. and 7 a.m. It is a four-hour tour. For this tour one needs to book in advance. |

Macuco Trail (Sendero Macuco) The Macuco Trail offers a four-and-a-half-mile roundtrip hike through the forest. Interpretative signs along the way offer information about the trail and the Macuco fall. The trail terminates on the sandy banks of the Iguassu River. The possibility of seeing animals is remote, but some species of local birds are always visible. The trail consists of three degrees of difficulty. In the Summer one must be careful with snakes.
